The Logophile

I just read Taggs article "Reading Sounds or An Essay on Sounds, Music, Knowledge, Rock & Society" umm that really is quite an ambitious title. At any rate I was interested in some of the terminology that he brings up, so this post has some of my favorites in the form of a top 5 list with visual adds:

1) Soundscape

2) "Sonic Property Ownership" Okay, its Sonic Youth, but I couldn't find a picture of sonic property ownership...

3) Wall of Sound

4) Acoustic Horizon

5) Sensomotric

  1. I like what each picture represents, but I think I am partial to soundscape for a couple of reasons.

    1) It reminds me of "vintage" Windows Media Player...I bet you know what I a talking about!

    2) I like the blues--it could easily be a logo for something else (although I can't think of what at the time being)

    3) It is a visual representation of what one could be hearing (which reminds me of Tagg's article on sound and it's affects--I'll post more on that on my blog later today)
